That generosity might be extended to Bangladesh, which until 1947 was a part of India.

@mikhailrehmantraut5412 The liberation of Bangladesh must have become heavily mythologised over the past 50 years if you think the Indian Army had "very little role" in it. Bangladesh, the area previously known as East Pakistan and EAST Bengal, was only a small part of the old Bengal Presidency. The British Governor-General (later called Viceroy) was based in Calcutta (later in WEST Bengal) until the final decades of British rule. Note the unerring instinct of the British to detect and exploit fault-lines in the countries they invaded: the principle known as "divide and rule." Most Commonwealth countries have deep fissures which were deliberately fostered by them so that they could say "Only we can keep you safe from the others!" "India" (meaning the land of the Indus) was a name given to the land by foreigners such as the Greeks. I doubt that at the time the Bible was written, before 500 BC, there was any one name given by the people living there to the whole subcontinent, as it was not a single political entity.

@mikhailrehmantraut5412 It's worth remembering that Richard Nixon sent an aircraft carrier into the Bay of Bengal as part of his "tilt towards Pakistan." That was purely symbolic, of course.
