Our actuall goverment has been very reasonable and just let things as they were before brexit ( and even improved some) while negotations with no time-limit had been promoted.....
But, if a more nationalistic goverment takes power, things could get not so smooth. For the extremist-nationalist party of VOX, causing trouble and making the Gibraltar-question the center of public-debate would be a great succes.
So, if VOX has something to say in the next spanish goverment, things will get messy around Gibraltar, the actuall agreements would be revoked, and nothing but the complete surrender and anexation of Gibraltar would be acepted....... not because they would think they could achieve it, but because they could use this situation of conflict to earn votes.......
As for La Linea, they don`t give a sh*t. This kind of people think that every problem can be solved by hissing a spanish flag, and the bigger the spanish flag is, the better will be the situation........So they will probably just fill La Linea with giant spanish flags, and call it a day........
So, if Gibraltar can make us all a favour, and go down from their high horse, stop beeing a financial heaven, accept already signed agreement that they refuse to implement (yes! I am speaking about the presence of mixed police-teams in the airport you build ilegaly on spanish land), and generaly stop behaving like morons and sign a reasonable permanent agreement BEFORE the people from VOX come to power, it would be nice........ just saying......

@saltymonke3682 Yes it is. It is Spanish land to so a degree, that UK did not deny it, but argued that Spain failed to claim their land back in the proper terms and time (wich was proven to be not the truth)
.
Finally GB and Spain AGREED and signed, that to solve the issue, mixed police teams would be deployed at the airport-customs.
This agreement is still valid, but its implementation was blocked on behalf of the goverment of Gibraltar.
So we are not asking to place our police at the customs out of the blue.
This issue was properly adressed and negotiated, GB just refuse to honor their word.
Also, if you are so keen to adhere to the Utrecht treaty, I would like to remember you that, neither Gibraltar not UK have the right to claim any waters outside of the port of Gibraltar nor to interfere with any Spanish vessel.......but for whatever reason, this does not stop them in doing so
Of course, Gibraltar having NONE territorial waters ist just nonsense, and this issue should be also adressed, but you cannot adhere and not adhere to the treaty both at the same time......this it not a "Schroedingers"-treaty 😁

@saltymonke3682 I know it, you know it, and everybody with to braincells know it.
BUT, that is not what the treaty says....sorry.
So, what it is going to be? Rasonable agreements between two neighbours, or adherenece to the letter of the treaty..... you can´t have it both ways....... and less now, when we have the ability to block any future comercial agreement between the UK and the EU.
Nobody (at least nobody reasonable) is asking for Gibraltar returning to Spain, but you should come down from your high horse, and adress Spains more reasonable demands (end of tax-heaven policy, the question of territorial waters and the question of the airport), instead of simply ignoring them......
IF UKs economy gets worse and worse in the next decades, the temptation of sacrificing Gibraltar to get a good deal with the UE, will increase, so you really should make NOW the best deal you could get........
just saying.........

@noah_gaming_yt5225 Relax bro. We have already enough people in our country that don`t want to be part of it.
Why add more?
But, it would be nice if Gibraltar stoped beeing a tax-heaven, claiming spanish shores and waters, and either demolish the part of your airport made on spanish land, or accept the presence of mixed police-units at he customs, and generally speaking cease to behave like a pain in the *ss.........
Please, before getting cocky, remember that from now on Spain is part of the EU, and GB not, so good luck trying to make any agreement with the EU while at the same time ignoring Spains demands......... no, seriously, good luck.
