@RyoKasai25 Probably a lot of roman citizens of the third century said the same........and "only" three generations later...... ( the western empire was finished by Odoracus, in 476, but they where unable to rule their territory effectively from, perhaps 385 dc or less). I don´t say that USA will colapse anytime soon (in fact, I hope I see no more such radical transformations in what I have yet to live), but, for example, if you had a time machine, and go back in time, to the Yugoslavia, ten years before the people of that country tear themselves apart, and try to prevent them, nobody would belive you........People tend to belive that things will be one way forever, just because they had not known it otherwise in their life..........big, big, mistake

Even today, if it would rain straight for two consecutive years, with almost no days of sun, most places would have a very hard time.
Yes, we have technology that our ancestors could only dream about, but we are also much less resilient, do to urbanisation (and even our farmers can`t operate without a robust chain of suplly).
Perhaps places like GB, where it anyways rains a lot, could somehow adapt, but if rained for two years in Spain (my country), we would surely colapse.........
