  2.  @donladfeasey5332  Provided we don`t get extinct, probably we will find somebody........ We are a very young species (our last common ancestor with the chimpancees was "only" 6 million years ago), and our technological advance has been very slow untill recently (the last 800 or 900 years)..... If we don`t get wiped out, who knows what we will achieve in one million years?

It has to be life that endures enough to create inteligent and techonological spicies that didn`t wipe itself out before beeing able to try to contact other spicies outside their planet/solar system/galaxy. Aditionaly this form of contatc has to reach us in the last 100 years, and be understandable......... 500, 1.000 or whatever years ago, we didn`t have the technology to discover radio signals. Imagine a civilization that launched it`s signals 100 milion years ago, but got extinct somehow in that HUGE lapse of time (we separated from the chimpances"only" 6 million years ago) Indeed, signals may be reaching us RIGHT NOW, but in a way we can`t detect them, because we are not advanced enough, Not saying it can`t happen, but there would have to align A LOT of things.....and , if aditionally we live in a region that is less atratctive to search inteligent life (because of its emptiness), then there are even less chanches......
