In exchange you get to dominate our comerce and impose favourable conditions for your big corporate firms.
For example, we right know are forced to buy your gas, at four times of the price we used to purchase it from the russians. No disscount. Even if we are togehter in a "joint" effort to boicot to strangle the russian energy export, you make us pay the full market-price. (Thanks!)
You also have forced us to discard the use of Chinese 4 and 5G infrastructure, and to purchase yours, more expensive. (By the way we have to trust you when you say that YOU, unlike the chinese, will not take advantage of managing our data, despite the fact that you do exactly this all the time).
The Everest high amount of money you make by "convincing" us to buy YOUR weapon-systems, should also be mentioned
The problem is, of course, that YOU, the average USA-tax-payer is not going to see any of the benefits your big corporate firms get from us beeing basically a military dependency of the USA. You only get to pay the bill.......but thats not our fault. Your goverment could tax the profit of this firms and share it with you. But they prefer not to do it.......
Ask your govermet why they sabotage ANY of the few european attemps to create an indepedent joint European army and defense-sector that threatens their control over Europe....... like the Galileo-proyect (our own and more precise GPS proyect that you are attemping to destroy at all cost. Thanks for that , too).

@Novusod You put a man on the moon, have an army as strong as eight times your closest competitors together, and are capable of destroying the world 7 times, one after another.
If you wanted, you could have an efficient transport system for your biggest human concentrations, and relegate the need for private cars to the countryside.
But this would mean a big harm for your car-industries (and other related), and of course, they don`t want this to happen. (Also, I think you value more your independence and have less of a sense of comunity than Europeans, so this could have something to do with it, too)
I have witnessed something similar in some Canary Islands, where they COULD have a awesome public transportation system (do to the size of the islands and the mountains of money tourism brings to them), but they refuse to, because it would mean the doom of rent-a-car firms and taxis..........
