The thing is, some of the protesters, and almost all of the organizers of the (lets face it) ilegal refrerendum were acused of despropotionally severe crimes with high penalties (like treason or insurrection), instead of the crimes that they ACTUALLY COMITED (mostly disobeying the orders of the court and embezellment of public money for illegal porpouses), wich would likely not have seem them going into prision (first offence and less than 2 years of sentence ussally means no effective jailtime), althoug it would have implied the imposibility of ocupying a public position and severe fines. BUT, this was not enough for our "patriotic" judicial system, whose judges performed a lawfare action against the catalan separatists, wich is mostly the reason why Europe showed us the middlefinger EVERY time we asked them to imprision the ones that fled to Belgium, Switzerland, France, Ireland and other countries, and send them back to Spain to be judged The people who manifest against the amnesty are mostly conservative or far-right sympatithers, angry that Sanchez is able to govern just by a difference of some 100.000 votes or so. They thought it was their time do dismantle all what the govern has achieved lately and are now p*ssed off........... Sadly, now that the catalan separatists have the key to let Sanchez govern, they have included inthe amnesty some ACTUALL corrupt politicians, that were not jugded for separatism, but for corruption and embeselment of money for DECADES. This could lead to some problems, because SOME left-parties that support the goverment, are not OK with the amnesty for corrupt people, and their votes are AS necesary as the ones from the catalan separatists......... A complicated situation.
