  1. Russia lacks actually enough manpower in the zone to take Kharkiv. Not saying they can`t, but they would have to reinforce seriously the forces actually depolyed there. Their most probable objetive is to divert ukranian forces from other zones they plan to advance, and to reach the outer limits of Kharkiv (20 kms), so that they can shell the city with cheap artillery shells, instead of expensive misiles. Of course, IF the ukranian front in Kharkiv colapses, surely they would consider reinforce the attack to exploit that fact......
