  1. Kharkiv was never in danger of beeing conquered by the russians, not with the forces they are using on this attack. BUT, if they advance the frontline enough, they can bombard Kharkiv (the second most important city of Ukraine) with field artillery (for wich they have plenty of cheap amunition), instead of having to use more expensive long range weapons, and drones, wich they don`t produce as quickly as conventional artillery amunition........ THAT`S why the launched this offensive, to put Ukraine in an impossible dilema: Let the russians reach the outskirts of Kharkiv and beeing able to flatten it piece by piece, OR move troops from other parts of the front to stop them, allowing the russians to launch new offensives in the weakened sectors........ Somebody in Russia is making his homework!
