Its pretty simple humanity will not go extinct, but will strongly be reduced in a short while (<100 Years) why well since humanity has become wicked "as in the days of Noah" as the bible teaches us. Meaning God /Jesus christ will come back soon (donty know when.. only He knows) and He will wipe out the majority of people who didnt listen to Him via the bible. People will be more seldom than gold as Jesaja teahces us, som max about 3 million people will remain. This will happen in most probably the next maximum 100 Yrs or sooner. And then Jesus has returned and He will reign earth for 1000 yrs and then He will destroy the entire universe as is predicted in 2 peter 3:10-12 and confimred by science via the unstable (meta stable) Higgs field.
