  2. Spark plugs may look fine when they are removed at whatever point, what matters is their resistance. Internally their resistance increases over time and puts higher load on the coils. The worst thing for high energy discharge devices like ignition coils is high resistance over time. May I suggest when you have a vehicle with known high miles on the plugs to check resistance compared to new, you may see what I am describing.

  3. 2013 120k miles Tacoma shudders ONLY in first few miles of the day, NEVER after and always shifts smoothly. This started after fluid change at Toyota dealer. I squawked it that it was very likely a little low on fluid. The Tech dumped the fluid again and supposedly checked fluid level at the required 110 F. If I had shudder at any other time I would suspect warped clutch or housing, but it only happens the first few miles. I'm tempted to add half a pint to see if it stops the shudder.

  4. My 1999 Toyota 4Runner had 350,000 miles when I sold it with original drive train, original alternator! My VW TDI has 350,000 miles on original drive train with original alternator! My 2013 Toyota Tundra has 130,000 miles and just had to change the alternatorā€¦.terrible experience. An alternator (Denso?) should not fail in under 200k miles.

  7. I regularly receive parts from Japan shipped to the USA within 10 days for $20. Not nearly as large as that environmental box but someone at Toyota USA needs to get their distribution system sorted.

  8. Engineering Explained just did a video on brake pads, many oem manufacturers specify mechanically locked material vs glued . There are many ways to bond the material to the backplate, so just because they are top brands like Brembo, does not mean they meet oem specifications.

  10. Many veteran foremen and leads with decades of experience and knowledge left their working careers behind during the plandemic. Now add DEI into the mix and the end products we are getting have declined.
