@mellun I doubt he's making 'thousands'. For some reason people think that every YouTuber is making tons of money. There are very specific rules as to how and when you get paid. For instance, if it's a 30+ second skippable ad (which most people skip after 5 seconds), it has to be watched for a minimum of thirty seconds or you get nothing. Next, most of the money goes to YouTube, not the content creator. Add in all the people that use an ad blocker or jump to the end and restart to avoid all of the ads really cuts into the revenue. Lastly, Larry is REALLY easy on the ads. Lost of creators have ads every 5 minutes, and this video only has three.
All of that aside, creating content takes a long time. There's all the time added to details in order to film it, the time spend recording voice overs, days spent editing. Should we not get paid for our hard work?
I think Larry probably would keep recording videos, even if he got no ad revenue. The excellent advertisement for his products aside, it's clear that Larry really is a fanatic about detailing, and truly appreciates his fans.
