@rosemarymurphy9241 just for completeness, the nursing union voted for 12 hour shifts. I totally understand why this fact is never mentioned though. Most nurses these days do three 12 hour shifts and from their four days off a week, do another bank shift which increases their income by 33% and still have three days off a week. I don't begrudge that at all, it's a great deal the unions sorted for their members but I do wish the nurses would stop it with the 12 hour shift thing when it's what they wanted. Some of us are contracted for 40 hours and do 60 with no overtime. Oh, and we don't complain about it because it's what we expected when we signed up. Other jobs are available!!
