Why would you put your phone down on a bench to do that?

@295walk yes but who ever does that? Maybe in your own living room but not outside on a public footpath... Unless she left it with someone she trusted, maybe.

I'm calling BS with the falling in the river theory. You don't put your phone down on a bench and walk towards the river. I wonder how many people who have been found to have fallen into rivers have had their phones on them. I reckon all of them.

@jessc2064 no you wouldn't. I've just taken my dog for a walk along the river near where we live. There were no phones on benches. In fact, in over 20yrs of dog walking, I've never seen an unattended phone. It just doesn't happen.

@jessc2064 Jesus that's a stretch. So she's lost her phone on the same day she's gone missing? You don't understand probability do you?
1
@jessc2064 "needed both hands free while she went to the waters edge" What are you imagining she needed to do? Your naivety is as bizarre as the police suggestion she fell in!

@jessc2064 oh is that it? They're the two theories? Thanks. You're not really thinking hard enough.

@jessc2064 😂 she's not gone in the river and even if she has, no one is drowning in that beck in this comparatively mild weather. The phone, the logged-in call, the harness, the loose dog; all very staged. I don't think the person seen by the witness was the missing woman. I don't think she was there. Or if she was, she left the staged scene. Insurance job or she's involved in something else that the police already know about. Or the sketchy BF. But she didn't fall in.

@sallywalton5375 hear of what moment though? Going towards a serene river bank?

@295walk possible but not normal, as you said.
