  1. I believe that Jupiter keeps Ganymede heated up enough that the core is partly, or maybe fully, molten... Hence the Mag. Field. For one thing there would be almost no night time, or a short one, due to the refection of light and heat from both Jupiter and the Sun, except when Jup. is between the Sun and Gany. Then there's the tidal/gravitational forces of Jup.....
