  1. As a Canadian who lived through the Miles to Kilometers transition from 1972 to 1977. Less than a year later, when we were still trying to wrap our brains around this new system, I joined the military and it was burned into my mind it's 1 mile equals1.60934 Kilometers not 1.5 K !!! A mistake like that could get a lot of people killed in a wartime situation !!! Just Sayin'
