Verses just the fact that the Islamic world has always been politically unstable and competes violently for resources and trade control? What you think are religious conflicts are typically just the marriage of politics and religion and it's really political conflicts. There's no big religious wars as there was in antiquity. It could even be argued that religion is just a tool to try to control political direction.
