6ft black, 200 pounds have braids( Japanese call it dreads) I have been in Japan for half a year in the south, Fukuoka and I've visited for 2 weeks in Tokyo. Never happened to me once. I have had many guys come up to me and saying im handsome or muslced. A few asked to touch my muscles. Had a few conversations with a elderly men who were curious about my background 😂 The girls are not as upfront but as i speak a litlle Japanese i hear a lot of them calling me handsome but one time i was approached by around 8 of em and after they wanted pictures with me. I have had a few kids stare or tap their parents saying look mom its a foreigner. But i just take that as curiosity. Genuine racism not really had it if im honest.
