SAG-AFTRA has sent congratulations to the WGA on reaching a tentative deal with the AMPTP They adds that they “continue to urge the studio CEOs and the AMPTP to return to the table and make the fair deal that our SAG members deserve and demand.” Voting by the WGA Board & Council on the new deal is set to happen on Tuesday if the contract language is finalised. If they approve, the deal will be released for voting by all WGA members. The strike does not officially end until authorised by the WGA leadership. The WGA leadership says “we can say, with great pride, that this deal is exceptional — with meaningful gains and protections for writers in every sector of the membership.” The WGA says the agreement with the AMPTP is subject to drafting final contact language. The agreement will then be presented to members to be voted on.
