  3.  @JohnFrumFromAmerica  Which is strange The NGAD shouldnt really need anything new besides new built radar and weapons bay able to hand a larger variety of weapons From the F22, they should adopt same bubble canopy , a well as modernized variant of the ALR-94 From the F-35, DAS, MADL, EOTS HMDS, Comm system and Wide area display as well as GAU-22 From the F-15EX, Its advanced processors Even though, it will use the ADVENT engine, it should be wired to accept the F-135 as well Like the F-35, there should be optional but capable non stealth mode

The elements are the same but they are not alike The US for example has demonstrated their clear superiority with engines The F-22 and F-35 both has their engines on time with options The Su-57 had to be retrofitted with older engines just to fly and wont get advanced engines till the Su-57M The J-20 since 2010 has gone through 6 engine configurations The FC-31 like the J-20 has similar issues with the engines The F-22 uses 1.5 mil lines of code for its software, the F-35 over 8 mil and the Su-57 4 mil What the J-20 and FC-31 uses isnt know Lastly The J-31 isnt forgot ,Pakistan is buying in response to India's program and will likely get them before India's program takes off giving them somewhat of an advantage

  7.  @bobsmith3983  American aircraft live up to the names while Russia and Chinese aircraft does not Case in point, Ukraine has cost Russia, 11 Su-30s, 7 Su-35 and 35 Su-34s Those represent Russia's latest aircraft and most all are in double digits

  8.  @bobsmith3983  Its even funnier when you realize that US made weapons are ways destroying Russia's so called air defenses with relative ease And even funnier when most of those weapons are old not new FYI clueless one, the point of making stand off weapons is you dont have contend with enemy's defenses

  9.  @JohnFrumFromAmerica  Cooling is not issue because air can be redirected from the intake while in flight The F-35 novel idea of using fuel as coolants works when the aircraft is on the ground Clean sheet and reuse both have pro and cons but as NGAD will be up there in cost it makes senses to apply massive cost saving measures and reuse has more than clean sheet

  14.  @viruspter1dactl  Thats due to the fact the YF-23 to cut cost Reused parts from existing aircraft as well as the fact they didnt equip it with TVC system so yes they were able to get built faster then the YF-22

  16. The F-22 design was chosen because of the NATF program where an navalised F-22 was envisoned. Secondly the F-22 used TVC while YF-23 did not As things have changed now The YF-23 design should be reused with few changes for NGAD A modernized version of the F-22s ALR-94 paired with F-35s DAS/EOTS/HMDS , wide area display, MADL as well newer radar The same advanced processors from the F-15EX Engines would be the F-35 F-135 or the ADVENT. The aircraft should be wired to accept both if needed The weapons bay needs to be redesigned to accommodate more air to ground munitions, anti ship munitions as well as the air launched variant of the SM-6 that USN is testing Same bubble canopy as the F-22 Lastly , it 2 gun design On the left a GAU-22 with 500 rounds On the right , an empty space for the DEW provision

  17. Yeah no Chinese military manufacturing is based reverse engineering from other countries The J-20 for example has been 6 engine series so far and counting. Made capable engines is area where China struggles in Now Russia also struggles as engine issues nearly derailed the Su-57 but they were trying to make engines as advanced as the newer ones the US was fielding China copied the Su-33 and didnt get it right there are several other areas but Russia is still marginally better than China

  19.  @sonwig5186  Yeah no The irony is Russia is why the US is heavily invested in EW and stand off weapons For starers, Russia has very little airborne EW whereas the US has EA-18G and EA-37 for airborine SEAD and jamming Ukraine can only use the AGM-88A-D which range 40-50 miles, the US currently fielding the AGM-88E and G which have considerably longer range. The AGM-88G range is over 150 miles which means it can engage an S-300 on down but most importantly is that AGM-88G is designed for internal carriage by the F-35 Thanks to Russian jamming in Ukraine, the US is no longer working on counter jamming but rather weapons to physically destroy the jammers as well other long range stand off weapons Lastly Russia's R-37 threat with MIG-31 and Su-35 is moot as the US fielding longer range missiles now
