@valenrn8657 The F-35B was always going to be different from rest but the fact that F-35A and F-35C are so far apart is why cost are through the roof ..

@valenrn8657 When the F-4 was used by the USN and USAF, the only differences were the reniforced landing gear , folding wings and few changes with avionics The F-35 A/C should have been the same way but they are way too far apart Honestly the A-12 design was too advanced for its time. They should gone with a more simplier design Ironically the X-47B design would better They were trying to put a B-2 on a CVN way too advanced for its time The F-117A was a black project so you really can't count it The X-32 was just one of helluva ugly duckling

@roijoi6963 The Rafale is no exception, It was built from the start to be carrier capable. The French wanted a navalized verison of the Eurofighter however it was rejected That rejection is what led to Rafale. Secondly the first operational model of the Rafale was the carrier capable model in 2000 The French Air Force didnt receive their Rafales till 2006
