The F-18 does not need more than 4 ADM-160s. 2 are enough for a single ship Remember the EA-18G is jamming so the ships radar is already degraded, when ADM-160 switch to jammer mode, it further degrades the ships radar it takes 3 planes for a ship. When dealing with a large number of ships ,different tactics are required What country can provide top cover for their ships besides the US None Russia has one carrier with 30 planes max.   3. Lets see The US can build highly advanced JDAMs with long range and advanced at cost of 100,000 at the most. Since the JDAM is literally just a kit Boeing can build 100 JDAM kit per day All the US needs is MK-84 which cost 3,100 to make Want to take guess at the US millitary inventory of Mk-84, just a guess in but low millions The JDAM can be fitted to F-35, B-1Bs , F-15E and F-18 for example which allows the US to attack repeatedly Vs a hypersonic missile that loiters in space which puts it at risk from space borne collisions as well as cosmic radition in addition to dealing with potential countermeasure how material is required to just to make one hypersonic missile Also remind that JDAMs can target various type of targets whereas a space borne missile target set is very limited

First , there are no battleships in service secondly its called Close in Weapon system (CIWS) CIWS dont have infinite ammo The USAF can use ADM-160s to bypass the CIWS ADM-160 are aerial decoys that act as jammers which will blind the CIWS, since the decoys are half the size of JDAMS its even harder for the CIWS to target. Ships can't target ADM-160s with missiles either

Instead they can use a 120,000 at most advanced JDAM Even with complex targets, the JDAM can still be used The AARGMER which is the newest model of the AGM-88 can used against the ships radar First by the design, its seeker can home in the radar emissions and secondly because of the problems the USAF had in Serbia the AGM-88 seeker was upgraded so it could strike any target. Without radar, its AA defense is useless Secondly CIWS systems radar are not that advance and can't overcome jamming

  6. Adapting JDAMs for anti-ship is not that hard to do Both the French AASM and Israel SPICE have precision seekers for 2000lbs bombs so all the USAF need to do fit seeker and datalink to 2000lbs bomb which the USAF has ample technology to choose from
