@hansjorgkunde3772 And this is modern warfare The F-35 can carry 24 GBU-53s which can kill any MBT whereas the A-10 just carries 6 AGM-65 which also can kill any MBT The A-10 GAU-8 can kill MBTs but how passes does it take ? where GBU-53 is one hit and its all over The F-35 is capable to fighting planes like MIG-35 or Su-35 whereas the A-10 stands no chance The problem with the A-10 tank buster capabilities is that it requires air superiority as well SAM suppression A-10 cant fully operate in contested air space

@Alexander Schmidt The USAFs NGAD/ADF/PCA program is develop a successor plane to the F-22. F-22 is the successor to the F-15 but too few were built and too few F-15s remain. The F-35 is an excellent plane but its no match for the Su-57 in WVR combat. The J-20 is designed to be high flying interceptor not a dogfighter The F-22 can easily take on the Su-57 or J-20 but USAF has too few of them. USAFs NGAD/ADF/PCA program changes that fact

Its either tonopah test range or Area 51 or both. Considering that they started working on the technology back 2010 and declared most of it mature in 2017 This is not surprising.

No the F-35 is replacing the F-16s for the USAF. Possibly the A-10 as well. The NGAD/ADF/PCA is the F-22s replacement. The F-15EX gives the Air National Guard a modernized aircraft.
