Yes, the US lost both a number of AH-64s and AH-1Ws in both Iraq and Afghan however those losses were spread out over years not months The key factor being is that US in both cases made sure to seal the borders which effectively limited enemy forces to handful of missiles and IED weapons Russia did not seal Ukraine's border. They tried to with the attack at Battle of Antonov Airport, however that and the siege of Kyiv both ended in massive failure which left Western Ukraine completely open allowing Ukraine to be supplied with more and more advanced tech if Russian forces had seized Antonov Airport, even without Kyiv Having forces operate out that air port would have allowed them to effectively cut Ukraine off from the West Russia's failure to do that is why they are currently getting shit kicked out of them

20 plus KA-52s have been confirmed destroyed via open source intel

@mcal27 Thats not progress Tactically speaking , Ukraine can draw line between them and the separatist areas and build up their forces What Ukraine needs is air power and longer range missiles with 500lbs warhead and 150 plus range weapons
2
@mcal27 That's why need air power MIG-29s have the range to reach both Russian Black Sea fleet bases. if they could be equipped with long range missiles like the AGM-84 they could strike from 170 miles away, while outside of most Russian defenses attack both land and sea targets Secondly if Ukrainian forces did more combined arms tactics, Ground forces could neutralize air defenses and open up holes for Ukrainian air force to use
2
@mcal27 Yeah how many kills has the S-400 got so far its just 2
2
@mcal27 Right , last time I checked, the S-400 claims low level target ability as does several other russian systems Longest range doesn't explain just 2 kills
2
@mcal27 Once again the S-400 and several Russian systems claim low level capabilities
2
@mcal27 You the Panstir that has been destroyed over a dozen times and captured 3 times and counting Same with the Tunguskas
2
@mcal27 Russia despite claiming air superiority is breaking even with Ukraine with aircraft losses
2
Piss poor upgrades and even crappier weapons

No one is talking about that due to the fact Russia's it was super power yet after 10 months, Ukraine still heavily contested

The aircraft that has been destroyed is the Su-30. Most of its losses were from base attacks ,however the KA-52 has been destroyed in combat 20 plus times and counting No cares that pilots survived. the fact they were hovering in position where ATGM was able to hit them is troubling

@МихаилЧерников-п2т The destroyed on the ground are mainly damaged units that couldn't make it back to base still a shoot down Russia bragged about Mi-28 and Ka-52 being flying tanks and that myth has been busted The Apache and AH-1W have a number battle damage but returned to base secondly I will give you 3 guess why its manpad rich environment (cough cough KA-52 failure at Battle of Antonov Airport, cough cough
1
@МихаилЧерников-п2т Not making it back to base is still shoot down Stop trying to twist the facts ,your desperation is showing Here is the simple facts if the KA-52 had made it back to base in its damaged condition, it could have been repaired and back into service or depending on the severity of damage sent back to Kamov which again could have repaired it ,depending the damage Since it landed and was later destroyed, its a total loss which means that Russian forces have to wait for new aircraft , and rely on Mi-28s and MI-24/35 in interim both are also in double digit losses Pilot survival is not relevant if the aircraft is a complete loss
