How are cluster bombs banned when neither Russia nor Ukraine signed the Convention on Cluster Munitions (CCM) ?

@pong9000 It being banned by others is irrelevant CBU have proven combat effectiveness Now the countries issue was the high failure rate among the earlier generations of munitions. Hell ,Ukraine was use the MLRS equipped with Alternative Warhead (AW) which uses tungsten fragments They noted it was effective but the decision to go with DPICMs shows that AW still cant replace or match cluster munitions effectiveness Ukraine is in fight for survival and has limited options till F-16s arrive

@pong9000 Lay off the grass tree hugger Ukraine had been using Alternative Warheads (AW) long before Cluster munitions and AWs were not cutting it The AW effects are against personnel and light armor but ineffective against to medium to heavy armored targets whereas cluster munitions is highly effective against personnel and all armored targets Secondly, on average , it takes 10-14 rounds for targets in wide area with unitary warheads whereas DPICM can do the same job in as little as 2 rounds Ukrainian forces are putting hundreds of rounds through their 155mm and the barrels are wearing out quickly Like or not, the other advantage to DPICM is less rounds fired which translates to less down time between barrel changes But by all means please keep stating your idiotic notion that Ukraine should continue with weapons that are clearly not getting the job done

@pong9000 The entire country is warzone so again point The different is proof Russia claimed that Ukraine struck a school but video evidence showed dozens of Russian vehicles and personnel using the school as base of operations As I mentioned before, Russia put KH-22 into a mall claiming it was munitions storage yet not secondary explosions consistent with muniitions exploded was observed There is a difference between intentional, accidental and unavoidable which is how attacks on civilians are listed Not yes or no
