It does not need 2 missiles The BGM-71E is tandem warhead variant while the BGM-71F is the top attack variant As Javelin and NLAW which are both top attack have been shredding Russian armor with ease, The BGM-71F would do the same If Ukraine is given the older the BGM-71E , it makes more sense for them to go for the mobility kill as the newer Kontakt 5 and Relikt ERA can protect Russian tanks against tandem warheads

@brianv1988 The tanks in Iraq had not ERA like Kontakt 5 and Relikt ERA. The Lion of Babylon and T-72M1 armor was 500mm ish The BGM-71E penetration is 900mm With Kontakt 5 and Relikt ERA , Russian tanks can resist multiple hits from the BGM-71Es The only way BGM-71E would penetrate is with simultaneously shots aimed at same spot which requires two Bradley A single Bradely can't double tap. , the FSCS Since the BGM-71F is top attack , it only takes 1 missile

Combat with NATO would be completely different. There would be a lot of large scale engagements in the air ,sea and land but Russia's short comings would become apparent very quickly If Russia left a 40 mile convoy in front of NATO NATO would smoke said convoy in a matter of minutes not hours ,minutes The said convoy was at least 900 vehicles The F-15E can carry 12X CBU-104 or 15x JDAM or 28xGBU-53s The Eurofighter can carry 18x Brimstone The F-35 can carry 24x GBU-53s in non-stealth The F-16 can carry up 8x GBU-39s So EA-18Gs and F-18s performing SEAD to knock out convoy's defenses with F-22s providing top cover 30 planes for convoy, 8 for SEAD and 12 for CAP is all NATO would need

Its not one sided its things are not working as out Russia had they planned This video was shot on the first day of the war Since then Russian forces has nixed all attempts at airborne assaults Like the US, they had planned on use airborne units to secure locations but MANPADS have been far more effective than they realized They lost two IL-76s full of paratroopers and MI-17/24/35 as well Ka-52s are regularly getting smoked by MANPADS Even a few Su-34s have been lost The Russian Ministry of Defense is trying to maintain of the superiority of Russian forces but the Ukrainian landscape is scattered with wreckage of Russia equipment They brushed off the West supplying the Ukrainian forces and now its haunting them in worst way possible

Its actually a major problem Russia's main advantage over Ukraine has been the poor quality of Ukraine equipment. As Ukraine and Russia fell out a long time ago, Ukraine hasn't been able to replace its Soviet era weapons. The few weapons Ukraine has were no match for Russian forces ,however the influx of superior western weapons has allowed Ukraine to hold the line Remember when Russia had that 40KM cluster fuck outside Kyiv, the Ukraine forces could do nothing but chip away it Ukraine is getting better weapons with long range but most importantly precision capability If Ukraine had the 12 Pzh-2000 with Excalibur ammunition plus M270 and HIMARS with M31 rockiets when that Russian convoy was outside of Kyiv, They would have been to completely destroy the convoy Same with the attack of Russian ships docked port M31 would have been able to sink the ships Influx of longer range weapons means that Ukraine can strike more effectively Special forces use Loitering munitions to knock out the target defenses ,then act as spotter for artillery fire allow Ukraine forces to do more than just chip away they can actually do complete asset denial

It depends In 1991, US forces were using BGM-71E which could easily penetrate 900mm of armor The Lion of Babylon and T-72M1 armor was only 500m ish hence why the TOW chewed them up with ease Kontakt 5 and Relikt ERA provides protection greater than 900mm however BGM-71F is the top-down attack variant using explosively formed penetrators Seeing the effectiveness of newer top attack weapons like the Javelin and NLAW, If Ukraine is given BGM-71F , then absolutely, the Bradely will crush Russian armor with ease If they are using the older the BGM-71E , it still will shred armor but they will have to likely double tap or go for the mobility kill

@Beryoozka The quote whirlwind is not an analogue of hellfire The Hellfire has multipurpose warhead designed for various target types , the Vikhr can only engage armor The Hellfire-L can be fired without unmasking as well its lock on after launch, again the Vikhr can't do that

@Beryoozka Russia's problem with the Mi-28 and KA-52 is that Vikhr and Ataka are not fire and forget weapons They require the both helicopters to maintain a line of sight as well hover in position They also heavily optimized for anti armor More to the point, Russia's lack precision weapons have left the Mi-28 and Ka-52 to resort to run and gun tactics which is getting them smoked by MANPADS
