Root cause; 46 years of enforced bolshevism in central and eastern Europe has made Russia think it has the right to control it forever. Absurd.
2
But Ukraine has powerful allies, Russia has North Korea and Iran.
2
@dallaw9238 unfortunately their arguably greatest, pushkin, believed in all this imperial nonsense.
2
@RandomGuy9 they do like a crazy dictator.
2
They steal toilets, washing machines and aeroplanes too.
2
Hope he doesn't win. His policies will cost the country a lot of money, like Brexit already has.
2
Looking for people laying flowers and waving antiwar posters.
2
We left the EU because the orange man is our future.Jesus.
2
@ozrakhan9495 this guy should look at the attack in Manchester. Its the same tactic.
2
We haven't started a war since 1875, just saying.
2
In 1895
2
@Ass_of_Amalek nobody knows because you can't do public opinion sampling in a country where the people fear their government. You can go to prison in Russia for being anti-war.
2
pull out of Incidentally, Which non-English speaking country do you hail from?
2
He knows. They're trying to rein Israel in, but it's a key regional ally agajnst Iran. Walking a tightrope.
2
He's not Moses.
2
@BasedInBrazil only problem. Its fighting a country with a gdp the size of Portugal.
2
Don't they kill them by changing the air pressure inside the tank?
2
The Poles aren't asking Germany to send tanks, but to waive their veto on Poland sending their own tanks.
2
For that you will need a modern army instead of the clown show in ukraine.
2
Not casual, there is always a risk when defending freedom.
2
@luciusdomitiusaurelianus1024 they attacked Paris while the Syrian war was in full swing. What's your point?
2
Now I know how Hitler got elected.
2
@terrylong1251 but what do you stand for these days?
2
Your understanding of the effects of global warming is a bit depressing in truth.
2
@alexanderantonov8586 just stay inside your borders, and you can oppress Russians all you like. We don't care about that.
2
@theusareview7960 an alliance to protect countries against Russian imperial ambitions, which works.
2
@theusareview7960 NATO was created in response to the threat from Stalin. He forgot to take his army home after ww2, leaving it in a number of European countries, and forcing totalitarian governments on them. In 1991 they were free again, but the threat of Russian expansionism never went away. So yes, NATO exists to protect us all from Russian militarism. And it does a good job.
2
@davycayaux2566 ukraine was constitutionally a sovereign republic of the USSR until 1991. It had the right to leave on paper. Unfortunately, it was only on paper, as Lithuania found out in 1988, when red army tanks rolled into Vilnius.
2
Germany is years ahead of Russia in technology. Its the advantage of fighting a second world country.
2
It can't by itself, but without quality battle tanks, Ukraine won't be able to exploit breakthroughs in a way which could collapse the front.
2
The UK, ww2. A good example.
2
Israel is defending itself, and so is Ukraine.
2
@davesandlin2145 bots are here Davy lad
2
I would never go there. Half of them voted for a complete nut.
2
That was poo tin's mistake. Pretty dumb. Language and nationality are not always the same.
2
@absolootely2571 not reliable but cheap, rather like Russia.
2
We should have advised ukraine to keep its nuclear weapons, because your word was worthless.
2
You can't crush the dollar. Your economy is very small.
2
"Neglected for decades by Labour governments". Rishi needs some extra Maths lessons. In the last 50 years, Labour was in power for 18 of them, the Conservatives for 32, including the last 14 years.
2
@peterkralt2478 Richard iii charged at Bosworth field, and Edward iv took part in the fighting at Towton.
2
@princessfanta8247 was ukraine there?
2
Exeter uni is good. You disappoint me. Ukraine's GDP surpassed Russia's last year. Russia is in deep trouble. Crippled by corruption, a massive state sector (40 percent) and led by people who are locked in the past. Why on Earth would any country want to tie its future to that.
2
That was yesterday. Keep up!
2
Note she doesn't want to live in russia.
2
Why do we need russian culture? We have ballet, classical, opera from France, Germany and Italy, liberalism from Britain, democracy from Greece, and good beer from belgium.
2
Fascism does this to people.
2
It was an opportunity to correct the record. He chose not to. I must say his views were awfully extreme. I hope this isn't typical for America. Some of the things he said were in very bad taste.
2
It's sad, that in a country forged from enlightenment values, that a 21st century politician should still believe misogyny is a vote winner. I hope Americans prove him wrong.
2
@nvmtt they can start a new UN. The top 5 countries would be USA, China, Japan, Germany, Britain. Russia has a tiny economy and a terrible army, so it wouldn't be a security council member. Yesterday's country.
2
It depends on how much they support them. Russia is a second tier country. America is not.
