  1. The question is "why didn't anyone tell the Russians that the age of imperialism finished quite a long time ago?" they don't seem to have noticed thst we have been decoloniding for a century.

  2. It was Brandt's concept. It stated that russia/ussr could be normalised through having normal trade relations, and the more isolated russia was the more trade had to be intensified, hence nord stream 2. It failed miserably to control putins behaviour of course, because as Baerbeck said, he doesn't care about the economy.
