Wouldn't it be nice if Russia could be emotionally mature enough to behave like a normal country. Is it really too much to ask of them?

@borovik8714 those that honor Bandera do it mostly because he fought against Stalin. If you know about the death famine, you would understand that. Ukrainians did join in the Holocaust, and so did poles, Hungarians, belorussians, Russians, Frenchmen, Dutchmen etc.

@Owlr4ider a military which it is beyond the means of the country to sustain in the field for an extended period of time due to its economic weakness, see Crimean war and world war one for evidence of this weakness. Maybe you know how a state can spend a third of its total revenue on the military for more than 3 years, without access to the capital markets, but I know of no previous example of this in history.

Germany is too amoral to follow this path, unfortunately. It is so hesitant to support Ukraine because the SPD wants to rebuild it's trading relationship with Putin as soon as this is feasible.

@toby9999 Russia supported the leave campaign, which is why there were so many scaremongering anti immigration posts and ads, which you probably read. Russia likes to destabilise western societies where it can. Because it works.

Austria Hungary wasn't autocratic. Every man had one vote and they had full democratic freedoms after 1875, 43 years before this happened in the UK.

A great power nationalist who wants to be remembered as a gatherer of lands, and has a need to humiliate and destroy the world around him.
