Milley said russia would win in 3 days. I'm surprised anyone listens to a word he says after that catastrophic misjudgement.

The retaking of kharkiv oblast was caused by rapidly exploiting a breakthrough at bakliya. But as you said, any breakthrough will always be limited by a rekative lack of the necessary forces.

Happened between the Greeks and Turks too in 1920ish. and something similar happened between the Indians and Pakistanis too in 1948 or so.

You listened to some hard facts, and then totally ignored them. What's the point of you having a brain at all?

I think he was just pointing out how narrow the isthmus there is by using that analogy. Not sure it's right though. The end ones must be 10 yards deep.

It also builds the pressure on putin at home. The war isn't that popular any more in russia, and watching crimea being cut off won't help matters.

If ukraine is even in a strong position to retake crimea next summer, putin will be under enormous pressure in the ruling elite. I doubt he will be given the opportunity to escalate.

It took it, with 100,000 prisoners.

You are probably wrong. Your government controls the media very tightly. Well, it owns most of it, and the rest is in exile.

10% of the peninsula were Tatars in 2014. They have been deported or have fled. Today it is less than 1%. That is also a crime against humanity, technically genocide.

Russia had a lease till 2042. If it had chosen another path, it could have been on friendly terms with its neighbors, and secured Sevastopol in that way. But it chose conquest instead. And now it will probably lose it, forever.

The villainous part is Russia's settlement policy, and associated deportations. Not the actions of a country which got 97% support for its annexation, as it claims.

@ДмитрийСоколов-о8в1б 1. Crimea voted to be part of Ukraine. That's called selfdetermination. 2. Russian empire took crimea from the ottoman empire, which had held it since 1240 3. Your mention of the Tatars is relevant, because actually they are the indigenous people, so it's theirs. Alas various Russian rulers think it's okay to deport them. 4. Russia needs it! Is that an argument? It's like saying Britain needs Ireland, which it held from 1140 onwards by the way, way longer than Russia held Crimea. No wonder your country is a pariah state now. You don't know how to respect another country's sovereignty in the 21st century, so you are doomed to having "friends" like Iran and North korea, and driving cars without ABS, airbags etc.

@johnfreeman9358 my name's John too, and my English is oh so superior to yours. You would almost think you weren't a native English speaker, but an 11 year old learner.
1
@johnfreeman9358 no, not your silly views, but your appalling level of English. Loss means bereavement, losses means casualties. Silly thing.
1
@johnfreeman9358 how does it feel to know your leaders manipulate referenda? That they lie to you Russians so cynically. Do you like their lying to you?

@dudeonyoutube a superpower? Britain's economy 2x bigger, not a superpower. Germany's is 3x more, not a superpower, Japan 4x bigger, not a superpower. the USA's is 16x bigger. You can call the USA a superpower I suppose.
