  5. ​ @JohnDoe-bh2lp 15 ships supported the Omaha landing, 8 of them were British, the landing craft were British with British coxwains. Most of the troops landed on D Day were British, who also landed at Utah, and later in the day at Omaha. Omaga was bloody because the tanks sank, giving the troops no cover and making it hard to hit the emplacements. The troops landed in the wrong place too due to the tides. All the beaches were tough. The US lost 2 400 on D Day, we Brits lost 1750.
