Don't embarrass yourself. You're addressing an international audience. There were 400 Russian first language schools in Ukraine in 2022. During Russian rule, the Ukranian language was periodically banned, and leading literary figures murdered. At the time of the USSR there were just 4 first language Ukranian schools, remarkable when you consider that in the first soviet census it was found thst 91% of the people spoke Ukranian as their first language. Playing the victim doesn't work outside your country. We have facts. btw. Crimeans don't want to be part of Russia either. The Russian installed governor stood for the governorship in 2010 in Crimea, and got 4.25% of the vote, his platform, becoming part of Russia.

Markov is a liar. The Russisn language has not been prohibited in Ukraine. Markov is angry because Ukranian is now the first language of Ukranian state schools, not Russian. To be exact; Ukranian law states (source: 2017 Education Act, translation on EU website), that 20% of the curriculum must be taught in Ukranian from year 4. Previously it was from year 6. There are also 400 independent schools where Russian is the first language, and 40 Hungarian L1 schools. As to 90% speaking Russian; 29% of Ukranians speak Russian as their first language. Prior to USSR Russification policy it was 6%, source: Russian Empire census 1911. That Ukraine is attempting to roll back this process is correct.

2014: Euromaidan. Reason. Yanukowitsch breaks his election pledge to sign the EU co-operation agreement which had been being negotiated since 2009. He not only didn't sign, he went to Moscow instead. This led to mass protests lasting seven months, which broadened into anti-corruption protests. After shooting 117 protestors dead, Yanukowitsch's nerve broke abd he fled to Moscow, where he now lives. Pres. Zekenski was elected later, in 2017.

Who will betray who?

No, it is not taught there, and government documents are not printed in Ukranian, despite being home to 2 milllion ethnic Ukranians.

@thenry866 what is odd?
1
Of course? The Russian elites don't want peace. The war reinforces their control over their own population. A wonderful example of distraction and blamkng outsiders for their own corrupt incompetence.

They warned them in writing on february 15th.
1
Why did the Russian TV news pixel out the belorussian flag on the van's number plate? Any rational explanation for that, or were they just manipulating the image, so they could say the van was ukranian to the zombified Russian viewers?
1
Its not smart. IS bombed Paris and Manchester etc. Or is he saying that we like to bomb ourselves?
1
She's right. She didn't know enough.

Imagine the French had told George Washington that they wanted the killing to end, so they would walk away and leave the Americans to their fate.
