  10. Russia isn't a world power. It's spending 30% of GDP on the military and 10% on internal security to pretend to be one. It needs that to keep its impoverished population under control while it builds weapons with their money. It has a GDP of 2.1 tr. dollars, 12th in the world, about the size of South Korea, and the state of Texas.

  12. We need national arsenals. I'm all for the free market, but defense is an essential industry, and the state needs its own manufacturing capability. North Korea shouldn't be able to produce more shells than the whole of Europe. It's insane.
