@SaintPatrick1970 you infer that the countries in which the USA has bases do not want them there, rather than those countries looking to the USA and its allies for protection.

After 7 months fighting, a part of your army is encircled, and still you can't see what is happening. Your professional army could not defeat ukraine. If you really believe that sending badly trained, badly equipped civilians will help, then that's up to you.

In fairness, putin did say that the collective west tried to destabilise Russia in the 16th century. The holy roman empire and Spanish habsburgs have a lot to answer for. If only.... they still existed.

Putin complained about the west trying to destabilise Russia in the sixteenth century. I shall have to ask the Holy roman emperor not to get too cosy with the king of the French. Fortunately, he couldn't have been attacking the anglo-saxons, because the USA and the UK didn't exist.

He does project a lot, its true.

Listened to Putin's speech. He didn't seem to know who agreed the un charter. It was stalin, FDR and Churchill at yalta. I thought he might have known that, being an international statesman and all.

I've heard them talking about "anglo-saxons"

Since russia didn't exist until the 16th century, that would be pretty amazing. Obviously, nobody told the scythes and tarters about that.

The wonders of translation.

He's not standing his ground, he's stealing Ukraine's ground. His people, or rather those who can, are fleeing.
