@philippevermaut7103 clutching at straws. The Bank of England was created, so that the government could borrow huge amounts of money. After ww2, the national debt was 400% of GDP. Being able to borrow a lot is a good sign. It says the markets have faith in your ability to pay the loan back, and that your credit rating is very good. Ours is AAA, how about yours?

@boota1979 don't get your hopes up. The Bank of England was created, so that the government could borrow huge amounts of money. It was a necessary element of the industrial revolution. You have 40 billion dollars in liquidity. This will last one year. After that, your state will be bankrupt .India just announced it's not interested in dedollarisation.

 @boota1979 the key economuc indicators aren't dire. The US is in good shape; productivity is high, which is the most important sign of a healthy economy.
