Fascism is more popular in the US than people realised. Very odd for a land once closely associated with enlightenment values.

Biden has less reason to be concerned about domestic gas prices now.
61
With a one-way ticket.
61
@nickc708 It's not the majority view here in the UK.
38
Have you collectively forgotten how you gained independence, by standing up to a larger power who treated you as a colony, and agsinst whom you could only hope to win with international support?
37
Or his Sevatopol 1855 moment.
32
Portugal is a beautiful country. If Russia would behave itself and act like a grown up country, its citizens would be welcomed there.
31
@cobeeble I don't recall restrictions being placed on use of Iranian and North Korean weapons.
26
Agree 100%. All a matter of will.
25
The Danes are great.
25
I hope he's steadfast. He has to form a new alliance. And very quickly.
25
One good thing came out of it. The Ukranian people showed that there are still a few nations on this cynical planet of ours which still care about things like liberty, enough to give their lives for.
24
@erikdexter3100 we persuaded Ukraine to give up its nuclear deterrent, snd let the Russisns keep theirs, in the name of non-proliferation. So, yes we do owe them for this horror.
23
He's a soviet sympathiser. A generation of Germans who romanticise that empire.
22
@treefrog1956 the imbecilic found Jake's channel. How sweet.
17
He is helping Putin all he can. They're on the same side of the political fence.
15
@JaneSoole the Polish foreign minister was very good too.
15
@trevorjrooney great things? The invasions of small European countries isn't great. It's rather cowardly.
13
10 years ago. Putin annexed Crimea and they built Nordstream 2. Greed, greed and greed again.
13
@julonkrutor4649 if Putin gains too much encouragement from our limited response, it'll cost you much much more later. Ukraine isn't far.
12
@T3RS1 Trump doesn't appeal to reason, but to emotions, mostly negative ones.
12
It's much, much worse than anything our grandparents experienced. A fifth of the country is under occupation, like the whole north west of England.
12
Is this really the party of Lincoln and Reagan? What happened?
11
The perfect allies for the Russian orthodox church.
10
@milantrcka121 thick people.
9
I watch Jake because he gives me belief that humanity is alive and well in this dark hour.
9
TripleKmafia it's not mutually exclusive. It is in the US's self-interest that Europe remains democratic and stable. a) as the US's most powerful ally b) as the US's biggest market for its goods.
9
You did actually elect Trump. What could go wrong?
9
@jonlee2217 German rocket scientists did that.
8
@madchessLeviathan no, the EU has a charter. Countries joining it agree to abide by it. If they don't agree with it, they need to join an orgsnisation more in line with their values and goals. In Orban's case, this is the Eurasian Union led by Russia.
8
@heygord You mean former colonial territories of an empire which ended in 1917.
8
@EpicHashTime he can explain his Verstaendnis to the people who have suffered from Russian chauvanism.
8
@PalleRasmussen The empire and dominians stood alone. Our European allies were under occupation.
7
If we replace the word "occupied territories" with "occupied peoples", it will make it more clear to Ukraine's detracters in our societies and polities what really is at stake here.
7
@franceyneireland1633 yeah. Good documentary about Kupyansk. The teacher talked about it online. Unlike the local mayor, he wasn't murdered.
6
Musk is one man, not a country. Just ignore him, and pity him for being so needy of attention.
6
@edwardlucke634 fortunately, we are wealthy and have around 600 million people.
6
Personally, I despise Carlson more. He does something to me. Trump is more oafish, reminds me of the older Biff.
5
@marianaibrahim5187 the Israelis don't care about anybody's red lines. They know they have a nuclear umbrella, too. Someone should tell Sullivan the basics of MAD.
5
Sometimes we get closer to our own humanity as we age, which is nice. It makes up for having back-ache.
5
@olena- you tell him girl:)
5
He will just be jealous.
5
More proof that the de-escalatory strategy has utterly failed, beginning 2014.
5
The Czechs were pressured by the west to give up their mountain fortresses in 1938, at that time they had 40 well-equipped divisions in defendable terrain,, and the best arms industry in Europe. If we had supported the Czechs, there would not have been a ww2.
5
@mikitz this website is not for cynics, it gives us hope in ourselves, despite our terrible political "leadership".
5
@misterwirez7731 democracy is connected to inclusivity. Exclusivity is one of the fundamental tenets of fascism, which the veterans of D-Day were fighting against.
5
The Dutch economy isn't much smaller than Russia's. It just goes to show the problems Russia will have financing this war in the medium term.
5
Your uncle's courage is very appreciated on our side of the pond. A generation which puts us all to shame for our gutless response to these odious 21st century dictators.
5
The thought of over half of all adult Americans supporting him is mindblowing.
4
