The Serbs did commit genocide, did engage in ethnic cleansing, and did treat the UN peacekeepers with contempt, but let's ignore that, shall we?
21
The man who talks about Novarossiya, don't think so.
6
Support democratic forces. Simple, and good.
5
He has a moral compass.
5
His knowledge of Ukraine comes from some nineteenth century Russian imperialist writer. Novarossiya, really?
4
Jake is a great guy. He has what the others lack; dignity and moral substance.
3
Putin does not use the NATO encroachment argument inside Russia. He uses the Greater Russia argument, that Russia is a superpower, and should be able to act as one. Russians like this argument. It makes the Russian state sound stronger, which is what they want to hear.
3
Wasn't it Socrates who said, that slander begins where the argument is lost?
2
I heard the bearded guy in another debate. He said "who cares about warsaw". He has zero empathy or understanding of for the millions of people who live in eastern Europe, nor for any human being I suspect.
2
A pleasure to listen to. Clarke is a very decent man.
2
Could truth teller tell us how Poland etc. are supposed to defend themselves from Russian invasion without being members of NATO? Because I don't have another answer to stopping 1939-40 happening again.
2
You have to know the history going back a century or two to have a serious view.
2
Btitish exceptionalism meets reality.
1
Jake's right. Ukraine has every right to fight back. The Russians have killed and maimed hundreds of thousands of peaceful civilians and those that are defended them, and turned 12 million Ukranian citizens into refugees, and there are another 6 mjllion living under a brutal occupation. These creeps he was arguing against are morally bankrupt.
1
Yes; the word "territory" is used too much. We forget, that we are talking about people's homes, not just a few people but 8 million people.
1
Terrific debate. It works wonderfully when people are allowed to speak without interruption.
1
Carlson is such a disingenuous tool.
1
North Korea and Iran don't place any restrictions on Russia, so why on Earth do we hamper our friends?
1
Do you regard the establishment of South Korea and defense of Taiwan, a democratic Japan and Germany as disasters?
1
@joosengelbrecht9433 Canada was in your hemisphere, and it belonged to the British Empire till 1867.
1
Why should freedom have a line?
1
@johnjames4681 Of course! He doesn't consider the security concerns of a dozen European states who were made satellites for 45 years, after having been annexed in some cases. He doesn't care about them. And he can't answer the question of why NATO increased its membership without acknowledging what Stalin etc. did to them. So he avoids it.
1
@marlenebuls9535 you mean 100 km from St Petersburg, Russia's second city. Why then did Stalin invade Finland? For a laugh?
1
@stevethewanderer1687 Sachs must be a fool. Putin doesn't negotiate in good faith. He has broken virtually every international agreement he has ever signed.
1
Never have so many words been wasted by so few brain cells..
1
It is the correct strategy.
1
@Freedom_Half_Off i would regard Benny as a fascist, like Charles Lindberg was.
1
The crowds don't fit into the conspiratal world view. The millions have no own desires, have no influence, have no will. The millions are wonderous.
1
@ad5792 one of the successors. There were 15 republics, nominally sovereign, although they did attack Lithuania when it tried to separate.
1
@ad5792 Ukraine is neutral. It wasn't a condition anyway. It contravenes International Law.
1
That's how the Russians are. Indeed Scott; ask the Finns, the Baltics, and the Poles what happened before NATO existed.
1
He ignores the history and Russian chauvanism.
1
He has no morals and he denies Ukraine agency and the right to NATO protection because he does not care that Russia is monstrous.
1
@Beya045 They are very naive about pan-slavic nationalism and Russian imperial chauvanism. There is a reason why Russia is so big.
1
Do you they they should hand over Putin and Netenjarhu for trial in the Hague?
1
He has no morals.
1
Mr. Horton forgot to read Putin's essay.
1
If Russia had a military base in Kaliningrad, how would Poland and the Baltic states react? They'd probably seek allies.
1
Russia cannot mobilise Scott. The regime fears the public reaction. There is a reason why they are offering huge sums for people to join up.
1
@izahrawr1246 If America hadn't fought on the European continent, that continent would be an antagonistic communist giant today.
1
@Sonder-r1q Horton is more charlie than beta. Just a loud mouth with nothing behind it.
1
@Muskieangler read about the history of Russian Empire then. Mr Putin even wrote an essay in 2021 to make it easy for you to understand his motives.
1
@jaybird3651 We found out. The rubles are still flowing.
1
@MaddC I saw the Maidan. This is the people's fight.
1
@kaizersoze2606 the fathers are fighting, not the sons. The average Ukranian soldier is 42 years old.
1
@nittayahenry12 If the tyrant gets too emboldened by western weakness, your sons will fight. Tyrants smell weakness very well.. It's how they got there.
1
@mikeoveli1028 propaganda.
1
@Twister743 we are following putin's ecalation. Criticise him.
1
@Twister743 the bombing of the children's hospital, Bucha and other massacres, and the deporting of children says otherwise.
1
@stephenhickman304 maybe we should help out. It doesn't seem fair somehow.
