  3.  @briant5685  are you suggesting that the Ukranian citizenry didn't want to be part of the EU? And that the citizenry has no agency? They rose against janukovitsch, who is a convicted criminal by the way, because he would not sign the EU partnership agreement. It was an election promise, and he broke it, and with that forfeited his right to rule.

  8.  @VashtheStampede-l5h  The 2001 ukranian census will tell you exactly how many ethnic Russians lived in these Oblasts eg. Kherson oblast 14%,Donetzk 36%. You also do not seem able to understand the concept of civic identity because you come from an environment where only ethno-linguistic concepts of nationality are applied as regards ukraine, although I ask myself where buratia, yakutis and Kazakis fit into this. It is of course a backward view of the world, and explains your inability to understand why ukranians did not greet the russian army with salt and bread, but instead with rejection. If you have the slightest interest in educating yourself then read the census and academic studies on identity in South and eastern ukraine, which can be downloaded for free. You will find that more educating than listening to the ranting old propagandists on your TV screens like Mr solyvov, who so hates the west he spends his holidays there in his Italian villas, and Mr lavrov, who so distrusts western education, that he sent his daughter to Columbia university, Washington, USA. If you got this far, there is an excellent study conducted by researchers from Columbia University on identity in ukraine, done in 2015. It shows that 62% of people living in Donbas regard themselves as ukranian civilians, and only 3.7% as Russian civilians. Enjoy educating yourself! You may yet reach western levels of education.
