Why didn't they let it land? Did they want it to disappear in the Caspian Sea to hide all evidence of the attack? But that would mean they don't value human life.

We don't actually want to be in alliance with a country which blackmails our fellow Europeans. There is no guarentee that this drift to authoritsrianism is a temporary phenonomen in the US.
497
It wasn't a row. President Zhelenski didn't raise his voice.
302
When the President of the USA tells blatant lies about aid, where can you go from there?
223
Hard to watch.

Perhaps the knowledgeable Chinese gentleman would care to explain how Russia's eastern neighbours' security is to be guarenteed without them being allied to their Western neighbours. Ukraine and Georgia would like to know the answer to that question, in the face of a militaristic Russia which breaks international treaties for fun.

I spoke to some Germans. For them the war is far away and they don't want to accept times have changed. It's more comfortable that way.
68
Their myth of victimhood insulates them against acknowledging that they are the aggressors. Its weird and has terrible consequences.
66
He would like to wipe it off the map, but he won't be able to. The Poles have already said they will deploy their forces in Ukraine if the Ukranians are in trouble, and the Polish army is quite impressive.
59
He just lectured the continent highest on the democracy and press freedom index, and lowest on the corruption index on free speech, while in tje countries his boss admires the citizens live in fear of arbitary imprisonment.
40
The US is not party to the Rome Treaty.
29
Germany has lived very well from my country keeping the trade routes open, and it safe on a miniscule 40 billion dollar defense budget for a quarter of a century.
28
The USA gave China most favored nation trading status to help it develop. Its economy did develop, but rather than becoming a normal democracy like Japan or South Korea it remained a one party state.
24
They just showed it. Did you even watch the video?
24
Europe and north america are victims of their own success. They are very attractive to those born in the various corrupt and autocratic countries of the world. We europeans should see migration of confirmation of the fact that we are on the fight path, abd do not need extreme ideologies.
23
He has a selective memory. In the defense of Moscow in 1941 the majority of the heavy tanks had been sent from British stocks. The tanks were sent in response to a request for heavy weapons by the USSR. Fighter aircraft (Hurricanes) were also sent to help the USSR defend itself against the aggressor.
20
It seems that Germany is putting narrow economic before collective security interests. I sense a lack of moral depth in the culture.
20
@Mr.Clownensky 5% of us defense budget, creates lots of jobs in the US as the US is sending Ukraine their old kit and building new kit for the US, what's your problem?
20
Yes. About 10 percent remained behind. 18 percent voted to stay in Russia in that oblast. Many people left the east due to the war long before Feb 24th.
20
It does not denote confidence in ones own arguments. He has got the whole media under his control, and he still needs to ban people. I can only say, his arguments must be rather weak.
19
38, but you're right.
18
@DukeOfTheYard We're not into religious fanaticism. We shipped them off to the Americas.
17
In all the darkness, there is another side to Russia, a very brave, humane, and dignified side.
17
Like in 1934 you mean?
16
Most far right voters are not poor. Fa right parties generally attract an older male demographic.
16
@kosarkosar7683 russia lost its empire because its economy is weak, and its still weak. Attacking Ukraine will just make things worse for Russia.
15
Europe, GDP 19 tr. Dollars, population 500 million plus, Russia GDP 2.1 tr Dollars, population 140 million. What the f.. is going on here?
14
Russia is a more militaristic culture than Britain and France, and doesn't have a strong economy, as Britain and France had. Its decline is pretty much assured.
14
Who cares.
14
I hate it when they say "as long as it takes" finish the sentence.
14
Protecting Trump.
13
It's not communist, and it's not a one party state, and people don't starve to death in manmade famines there, and it doesn't have gulags.
13
Europe has always done a lot of trade with America. What do you mean?
12
@jasonhardee2860 wrong. Europe has sent Ukraine more aid than the US has, but the US has more stocks. This is why US support is so important, until Europe can develop its own arms industry. It buys most of its kit from the US.
12
North Korea, China and Iran aren't debating whether or not to continue to support the invader, and I can't recall them limiting the targets for the weapons they provide.
12
It has the happiest citizens in the world, the lowest poverty, and the least corruption.
12
Of course. You were forewarned that we would defend the UN Charter.
12
In my experience, germans would like to be seen as tolerant, but they are instinctively provincial. I was surprised at their attitudes towards east europeans, bordering on colonial.
11
Enlighten us.
11
He didn't apologise for shooting down the plane. He just said he was sorry, that on happened in Russian airspace.
11
@thehoneybadgerusmc it is. The west refers to western liberal democracy.
10
Lost souls, or should one say dead souls.
10
No one else got it, because they would have asked tough questions.
10
My country has many faults, but it has backbone and knows the difference between right and wrong.
10
That escalation management didn't work very well.
10
They said that after the 1938 Munich conference. Total war came a year later.
9
But 25% of world gdp, the main reserve currency, and the technologically most advanced nation on Earth. With just 5%. What a country!
9
Strange that the citizens of the vassals are free, and the citizens of "free" Russia can't fart in the wrong direction without being arrested.
9
Most of us don't actually mind. Diversity and openness is a good thing.
9
A market.
