@d.b.2215 that is Germany's choice. Nobody forces Germany to be either in nato or the eu. France left nato once, austria and switzerland never joined it. Up to you.

It's more prosperous than it was in my parents generation. If this is decline, I'll take that.
3
Hang in there! Ukraine really needs Europe to stand behind her in this dark hour.
3
@LaHayeSaint tell Judy to watch RT with its western "experts", a strange assortment of very right-wing people, with the odd Marxist thrown in for fun.
3
Europe welcomes Ukraine. Better luck next game boys.
3
He has limited resources. Russia has a large military and a small economy and industrial base.
3
@balattam2312 you could live in a radioactive arctic swamp, yes, if you could walk a few thousand kms through total darkness. Although I imagine, that you would have to fight your fellow survivors for whatever canned food is left on your supermarket shelves to build your strength first.
3
@shischkebab9827 It will be 3 countries bigger after this attack into Europe.
3
There are a lot of older people.
3
@Tu-Vi-Dau-So it doesn't matter what russia wants. It woke the giant.
3
@abrahamdozer6273 it's not that big; only 140 million. Japan size, with a third of the economic power. The land doesn't sustain a large population. Most of it is either permafrost or has a very short growing season due to the long cold winters there.
3
They will if they think they need time to regather their strength, which is why Ukraine should not negotiate with them.
3
Why NATO?
3
@Ballardian ethnicity? It's been ethnically cleansed, which is a crime against humanity. Even after that, Crimea voted to be in an independent Ukraine.
3
@TheUllur Germany does actually have a military base in the US, Holloman Airforce Base in New Mexico.
3
@vladthepistol3974 nato isn't a country. The European countries which border Russia have all applied to join nato due to fesr of Russian expansionism, most recently Finland. Ukraine and Georgia were vetoed by Germany and France in 2008, so are non-members. Following their failure to secure nato protevtion, they have been invaded by Russia, and have both lost 20% of their territory to Russia.
3
Cool song.
3
It stays ahead because it is democratic. It's no secret.
3
Did you really, really?
3
Hopefully you're getting paid euros, it's 84 rubles to 1 euro now. This is how you will lose the war; a slow economic puncture until collapse comes swiftly and without warning.
3
@eddastrohmayer251 so why did he go to war? There weren't any us bases, and why should ukraine want to be a buffer state.
3
DW is rather pro-Russian. It is allowed inside Russia, which is never a good sign.
3
Playing the victim, so tedious.
3
Britain didn't hold elections during ww2. Are you arguing that Britain isn't a democracy, because according to your argumentation it isn't.
3
Why would a Russian like you care? Don't you have your own channels?
3
A6 I think.
3
True. I would like them to explain why Ossies have such a problem with immigrants, when immigrants prefer the west of the country.
3
Then I suggest you give Kashmir to Pakistan. Then you will have no problems there anymore.
3
His hands are tied by Scholz, who fears his popularity. Scholz is desperate to be a weak chancellor again.
3
It is not for governments to question the court. It undermines the rule of law.
3
BS.
3
The ICC is a court. Courts need to be respected. The accused will have the opportunity to defend themselves.
3
Nobody cares though.
3
@UnicornMeat512 a managed democracy putin calls it. A nice turn of phrase don't you think?
3
@Dead4ev1 it eould be respectful to the host country to try to learn the basics, don't you think? After all, hey allowed you to live in their country, which is quite nice of them.
3
Yes, I can understand India thinking that Europe and colonisation are synonymous, but times change, and today's coloniser is russia. The rest of Europe has grown up.
3
@patriziacasagrande3833 are you saying that the Russian army has better morale?
3
@yidpgh what percentage of GDP do you spend on defense? Poland spends 4%. I bet you spend less.
3
@515coldfire Gorbachev says nato eastward expansion was never discussed. I trust him a lot more than a serial liar like putin.
3
They did. It was on TV.
3
They will head west, if they have a good education.
3
I don't recall Chasiv Yar being fought over multiple times in world war 2. Nobody has ever heard of it.
3
An illegal bridge.
3
And actually it is the voters who should decide, not the state. That would be dictatorship.
3
He saw Bucha. He knows.
3
He won't live to see the end. The russian people will pay the price
3
Being forced to flee your home and country is a step to a new life? Are you for real. She has experienced tragedy.
3
You are comparing the present conflict with the wrong war. It was world war 2 which was started by a revanchist fascist state using minority language rights etc. as a pretext for colonisation, not world war 1.
3
@Alexandra-dd1su and the German historians, unlike the soviet historians, had access to the documents and treaty secret protocols.
3
@terrymullins9772 wait 'n' see. They thought they would win against the Japanese, British, and French. They lost.
