Sometimes I think the population of Europe is much better than its leaders. People are appalled by what is going on in our small continent, and want decisive support for ukraine. So sick of these weak leaders we have. Always afraid to act.

They are not the same. One is a young democracy looking for our aid, the other a former imperial power in search of an imperial identity.

Fact check and comment. If he is lying, say so, with reasonable evidence of course.

The last dictatorship in Europe. Good luck with that.

@Khalid_Looby I wonder which awful godforsaken country you come from, to think Russia is good.
1
You assume that your government cherishes human life, including of its own citizens and soldiers, of which there is actually no evidence right now.

They get it, but they have narrow self-interests. We don't have good leadership, and putin knows this.

If he loses, he will likely die. The Russians don't mind how many children he kills and mames, they just want to be feared by the rest of the world.

@jimmytimmy3680 Don't you even know that the German army defeated the russian army in the great war. Sue your history teacher.

@Hvitserk67 It is indeed. Commercial media is, as you know, susceptible to this temptation because there is a profit motive at work, but I wouldn't want to only have state media, because that tends to be too risk-averse, and open to government pressure (employer) , but I can only speak for the UK of course. The people I really appreciate, though, are brave investigative journalists.

@facelessgod-kg7xk nato soldiers. If only. It would all be over against this second world military.
1
Putin despises both. He may use them though.

The German political establishment's attitude to Russia is strange. Do they know that Ukraine was the main battlefield of ww2, and more ethnic ukranians than ethnic Russians died? If it wasn't just naked economic self-interest with fingers crossed, or corruption.
