  3. The question I ask myself is why Putin is so keen on the smaller countries not getting NATO protection. NATO is already conventionally way more powerful than Russia, It already borders Russia and Belorus. If it attacked through Finland and the Baltics it would win anyway. So what's it really about?

  4. I don't recall Stalin caring too much about expanding west. That's what the eastern Europeans remember. Maybe we should consider their needs .
