@zhufortheimpaler4041 the ukranians say they need 300. There are 2600 in Europe, manageable.
2
@JohnDoe-vy5hh they will never need them if the ukranians are given the ability to take out the rest of the russian tanks. They've already destroyed 40% of them.
2
@JT.Pilgrim then they'd better wake up fast. The Russians aren't that far away, and they have no nuclear deterrent.
2
@galaxyexplorer5105 where are you from?
2
Why can't Germany take the lead here? It's the biggest country in the Europe. A lot of Germans complain about US leadership. The US is literally asking them to lead on this one.
1
AlternativeHeadlines do you see russia as at fault in any way here?
1
@guywatkins5590 I don't see leaving key international organisations as a benefit, sorry. I didn't see any evidence of gerrymandering in Germany in the years I was there, but of course I wish the present were able to better manage his left-wing, which is anti-NATO, rather pacifist and still hanging onto Brandt's Ostpolitik. Scholz has a problem akin to Theresa May's ERG, but he has to solve it somehow because the stakes are very high. Pistorius came to Ramstein with a million in aid, which was a signal in itself that Scholz dies not lack desire to help Ukraine, but is struggling to manage the tank issue at home.
1
@liberalconservative7122 there is disagreement inside the SPD here about providing tanks.
1
@crisscrosschrissy8491 it might be scholz trying to overcome internal party opposition.
1
@zhufortheimpaler4041 I can't think of a reason the USA would want russia to win.
1
@zhufortheimpaler4041 fdp too. I thought they were for it. Interesting.
1
@孫悟空-r7w what a happy thought.
1
@robertdownes793 where do you live, chemnitz?
1
@zhufortheimpaler4041 Germany is 20% the size of the US economy. It has provided 9.7 billion dollars, the US has provided 45 billion dollars. Its marginally more.
1
@thunder2434 they might be worried about the Russians getting their hands on some technologies.
1
@shawnladue8986 it's given 9.7 billion total aid, and taken in 1 million refugees.
1
@uncleruckus69420 they performed excellently as I recall.
1
@robertdownes793 we do. If you're from a backward shithole, I suggest cultural advance as opposed to intense jealousy. God bless uncle Sam.
1
The big worry is that Germany is thinking too much about narrow national interests instead of operating according to principles and the integrity of the alliance. Defending Ukraine is not an economic question, but a moral one, one which requires sacrifice for the greater good.
1
@galaxyexplorer5105 you trust the Russians word. I seem to remember them saying they weren't going to attack ukraine. They'd been planning it for a year.
1
If everyone at ramstein sent 14, ukrsune would have 714 more tanks. Respect to Morocco by the way. Not just a great football team.
1
@questionmaker5666 m1a1 is a good tank. Too good for 95% of what the Russians have there.
1
@MeMe-xn6cs that's a bit unfair on Europe. The US has sent 45 bill. Europe 55 bill. In all support including humanitarian and financial. The US economy is bigger than the European one around 24 to 20 billion, so I think it's okay. I wouldn't separate north America and Europe that much. Its their western democracies and way of life which putin is trying to damage.
1
AlternativeHeadlines rude, disrespectful, tasteless. You must be a Russian.
1
@MeMe-xn6cs we should have told the Russians that if they invaded Ukraine that nato would treat that as an attack on a nato member. Would there have even been a war? .
1
@randyboisa6367 if the Russians are stopped in ukraine, they won't be a threat for years to come, by which time technology will have moved on.
1
@emilie6466 they're saying fuck it; Dorchester armour it's called, an upgrade on Chobham. Why is Chobham named after my favorite service station on the m3?
