  1. He dresses like this to identify with his troops on the lines, to say he is one of them, first among equals. The contrast with Putin's elitism is deliberate, and meant to demonstrate his democratic values.

  2.  @Danilla229  facts, please. The total deaths were 14,000, of which 10,000 were military casualties. You also neglect to mention that the insurgency was arranged by Russia, funded by Russia, and 1,000 russian soldiers were among your 21,000 casualties.
