Many large and powerful countries in the world wish America ill, but there is a continent which America can count as a friend, and this continent is currently under threat from a government which hates your country so much it portrays the war as a fight against America and US satanism.

  6. The world is interconnected, whether or not you want it to be or not. What happens in Europe matters greatly, if only because Europe is the US's most powerful friend in the world, and its biggest trading partner. No country is an island. There are powerful forces outside America which seek to do it harm.

So; the USSR started the war with the Nazis, got screwed by the Nazis, and then allied with the USA, Britain and their partners, to fight their former partners, the Nazis and their allies, Japan, Italy etc. This alliance, called by historians the second coalition, defeated the Axis forces together, in many military theatres. The German army suffered 70% of its losses on the Eastern front, so the USSR can take much of the credit for destroying German ground forces. However; the Western allies can be credited for defeating imperial Japan, Italy, and destroying significant German Air and naval assets, as well as damaging her cities and industrial base with air campaigns. The material US support for her allies was also hugely important. For example; the US supplied the USSR with 410,000 trucks and jeeps, 13,000 aircraft and 7,000 tanks. No serious historian believes that the USSR could have defeated the German army without this material support, and without the western allies engaging and defeating Germanys main allies, and preventing German access to resources such as the Middle-East oil fields. It was, as they say, a world war.

  8. The German army defeated the Russian army in 1917, winter or no winter. The millions of Russians who died in that war have been airbrushed out of Russian history because they lost. Nobody remembers those poor souls in Russia. Your evil politicians have politicised the past, to create the false impression that Russia is an exceptional country which is always the victim, and always wins, both totally incorrect.

Can we have a world where totalitarianism isn't accepted too, where people don't get jailed for 35 years for reading twitter, or have their genitals mutilated by religion, or get imprisoned for disagreeing with their own government, or can't study because they were born female. That woukd be nice too.

  10. Russians share Putin's ambitions. It's a very nationalistic country, which believes in might is right. We tend to forget that he is popular there, and has been for a very long time.
