  8.  @Sumuelelinsanito  technological innovation cultural advancement and engineering excellence is in the west. This fact doesn't change. Russia has a weak economy, poor universities, and missed the enlightenment. China has lots of people, but has poor productivity and is technologically behind the west due to an autocratic political system. There are reasons why the west has led the world for centuries, and they still exist.

  12. It was conquered by Russia in 1793. It finally became independent in 1991, after a previous declaration of independence in 1917 was quashed by red army troops.

  28. Putin has imported a million russians into ukraine, 40% of the total population, since 2014. Obviously many of the original inhabitants left because they didn't want to be part of Russia. He has a majority there now, unlike in 2014.
