@dominicpepe9341 "Russia did not attack west". Can you explain to me how eastern Poland, the Baltic states, regions of Finland such as Karelia, and Besarabia came to be part of the USSR between 1939 and 1941? Did Father Christmas give Stalin some nations because he wrote him a nice letter?

@AuroraColoradoUSA Does doorstep = border? Those countries were previously independent states. Stalin annexed them all, with the exception of Finland, which he only got 10% of, including its second city.

 @a13xdunlop They were vassal states. Stalin imposed communism on them, and forced them to be in the Warsaw Pact. If they tried to reform, he and his predecessors sent the tanks in.
