  21. With regard to F-16 training, the US allocated money to train Ukrainian pilots in mid-2022, but didn't do any training for nearly 12 months. To think, there could have been F-16s protecting Ukraine nearly a year earlier, but the opportunity was squandered. The "reset" that worries me is not the one with russia, but the one with Ukraine.

  27.  @robertadsett5273  It works largely in Ukraine's favor. Everytime Ukraine sinks a ship of ruzzia's Black Sea Fleet, ruzzia has one less ship and the number is finite. If Turkey made exceptions, ruzzia would simply replace each ship Ukraine sank, with another from one of their other fleets. I believe ruzzia is building ships as fast as it can within the Black/Azov/Caspian Sea network - but that is not very fast.

  148. Interesting tumes. It seems that like Putin, Trump thinks "might is right". One danger with a "rare minerals" deal is that if Ukraine plays hardball, the US could negoitate with russia to get the minerals it wants. In my view, Ukraine might be better to negotiate a deal with the non-authoritarian world (i.e. NATO - US, +Europe, +Canada, +Australia) and tell Trump where to stick his deal. The US is an unreliable "partner". On another note, Ukraine is under no obligation to pay anything to the US for arms gifted to it. Especially as a significant percentage of those weapons were life expired and therefore only worth a fraction of the claimed value.

I would normally agree with you, but at present I believe the price of peace for Ukrainians is higher than the price of continued fighting. To back this up: we all know what Russia is going to do to Ukraine if we let them. The destruction of the people of Mariupol; the torture, rape and killing of the people of Bucha. We all know that peace now will reward Russia for its aggression. Peace now will be a temporary peace until Russia can re-arm and take another bite - of Ukraine, or Moldova, or Georgia. I listened recently to the parents of a man killed in Ukraine. He was an aid worker - not a military man. He was helping elderly civilians evacuate from the warzone in Donbas. But the Russians got him. Executed him with a bullet through his chest and one through his head. For what? And his parents hadn't been "got to by the CIA" - they were speaking honestly, from the heart. That's who the Russians are. You don't negotiate peace with such people - you fight or die fighting. "just because I don't buy into this western media narrative". Fine - but don't buy into the Russian narrative either - and I suspect you have.

The US is now supporting the "Axis of Evil" (russia, North Korea, etc.). Voting against Trump (i.e. Democrat) is effectively two votes against Trump. Yet the man says "I don't think I can vote for Trump" meaning maybe he will. It does not gell with supporting Ukraine.
