Why would they vote that way after a decade of mistreatment under Russians? The 400,000 dead soldiers (Russian and Ukrainian combined) are Pootin's legacy. As are the million injured and maimed soldiers from both sides. They are the legacy of the person who started this war - Vlad Pootin.

Oh wait, that's right - he stole it all from the Russian people. And at least one of his daughters lives in Paris.   40.  @Polina_E  Well that's interesting. As more news comes to hand, it turns out that some civilians may have been killed or injured. Apparently, when Russian troops eventually arrived they started shelling in the general direction of the freedom fighters. They didn't hit anywhere near them, but did hit a number of houses, almost certainly injurung or killing some of the civilian inhabitants. So the Russian army likely killed many Russian civilians. Doesn't it remind you of Mariupol where Russian forces bombed and shelled the city to ruins, killing tens of thousands of Russian speakers and ethnic Russian civilians - the very people Pootin said he was going to save. That Pootin really is an evil piece of work.

"The good people of Donetsk and Luhansk have found a saviour in Putin." No they haven't. Putin has forced most of the men in the Donbas to fight against Ukraine - poorly trained, poorly equipped and poorly lead. A significant portion of the over 200,000 Russian forces killed so far are DPR and LPR men. Tens of thousands of Russian speaking and ethnic Russian civilians were killed by Russian forces in Mariupol alone. Putin has decimated the good people of Luhansk and Donetsk. Sent them for slaughter.

Lets just say, there are over 200 countries in this world (although there'll be many less if Russia isn't stopped) and only 30 odd are in NATO. I can't give you figures for how many are "west" but there are a lot that fit the neither NATO nor west category.
