  1. I too feel that he must be stopped. He has shown that he is irresponsible when it comes to nukes. I don't want to die in a nuclear exchange, but nor do I want to live in a world dominated by evil dictators. At least if I die in a nuke exchange it will be quick.

  2. You mention how long it will take for ruSSia to take the remainder of Dontsk oblast. You are not exaggerating. I recall that Putin ordered his generals to take Donbas by October, 2022 (failed), then by the end of 2022 (failed), then by the end of March, 2023 (failed again). Then the orders were to take just Bakhmut by the beginning of May, 2023 (another missed target). RuSSian trolls keep telling us that Ukraine is lost. Seems to me it is ruSSia that is losing.

  3. ​@nian60 Interesting. russia considers 5 Ukrainian oblasts to now be part of russia. So the EU can release these frozen funds to the legal government of those "russian" oblasts (in Kyi). Surely russia can't object if russian money is released for use in "russia".

  4. It will be interesting to see just how soon the newly mobilised troops take to get to the front. The sooner they get there, the less training they've received, the easier they are to take out.

  7.  @JGold-cu5mo  I fear the Neville Shute disagrees. Have you read "On the Beach" - admittedly that was set in Australia, but I assume it's a similar scenario for New Zealand. Anyway, let's hope it doesn't come to that, but lets make some preparations in case it does.

  8. With regard to Patriot missiles, I'm sure I read somewhere that Japan manufactures some. Wherher that was a single batch, made under license - or their own design of compatible missile - was not specified. But now that the US has become the USSA, an alternate source would be useful.
