I don't think you do. The strategy is to grow their numbers and take it over. If you don't like the establishment, run for school board, city council, state legislature, and state and local party committees. If enough people do that and win, we take over.

@Pack -A- Punch Some people don't really want to accomplish anything and are only happy when they're complaining.

@ianmcshea913 Well, then, you haven't paid attention. The Populists ended up becoming the dominant force within the Democratic Party within a decade. The Liberty Party gave us the Mexican War and the expansion of slavery. The Free Soil Party gave us the Compromise of 1850. The Green Party gave us the Iraq War and the "clear skies and healthy forests" initiatives. Now, let's look at the strategy I'm arguing for. The squad is becoming a platoon, the House passed a $15/hour minimum wage (which Biden now supports and mentions in his ads), and if Democrats win the Senate, Bernie will chair the Senate Budget Committee and the Senate Subcommittee on Health, becoming the number two member of the HELP Committee, meaning that he is range of holding the gavel once held by the lion himself, Edward Kennedy.

@deulavremotsuk3563 If none of them did, no one would have gotten their $600/week in supplemental unemployment. The bill was going to pass with or without them. Would you rather no one have gotten that? Is your desire to burn everything down because you didn't get everything you wanted that strong?

The same thing as Bernie's campaign slogan: not me, us. Bernie will also get the gavel for the Budget Committee and the Subcommittee on Health. Just because we can't get everything doesn't mean we have to put ourselves in a position to get worse than nothing.

Bernie doesn't want to be Labor Secretary. Doesn't it seem odd to you that, right after making the rounds talking about his newfound power in key committees should Democrats retake the Senate, that a story comes out saying that he wants to leave the Senate?

@LogoLamont Child kidnapping, forced sterilization of women, undermining democracy, killing over 200,000 people due to incompetence. If that's winning, I'd hate to see losing.
